It's free

Timestamp Fixer costs nothing. There is no licence to buy, no trial, no locked features, and no subscription.

If it saved you some time and you'd like to say thanks, you're welcome to leave a donation. Donating is entirely optional, gets you nothing extra, and is a gift rather than a purchase — so it isn't refundable.

Your files stay on your computer

Timestamp Fixer runs entirely on your own machine.

• Your photos, videos, captions, and chat history are never uploaded anywhere. They are not sent to me, to any server, or to any other service.
• The app never modifies your original export. Everything it produces is a copy in an output folder you choose.
• The app does not require an internet connection to do its work.

If you choose to send a problem report, only then does anything leave your computer — and the app shows you exactly what would be sent before you send it. That is always your decision.

What you're responsible for

• Keep your own backups. Software has bugs, computers fail, and drives die. Do not treat Timestamp Fixer's output as your only copy of anything you care about.
• Check the results. The app includes a spot-checking guide for exactly this reason. Dates are recovered from what Snapchat puts in each filename and in your chat history; where that information is missing or wrong, the result will be too.
• Only use it on data that's yours. Don't use it on someone else's export without their say-so.

No warranty

Timestamp Fixer is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

I can't promise it will work for your export, that it will be error-free, or that it will be available in the future.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, JohnKyle Murphy Buckley is not liable for any damages arising out of your use of Timestamp Fixer — including lost, damaged, or incorrectly dated files, lost time, or lost data.

Since the software is free, and to the extent any liability cannot be excluded, total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the software (which is nothing) or US $50.

Not affiliated with Snap

Timestamp Fixer is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Snap Inc. in any way. "Snapchat" and "Snap" are trademarks of Snap Inc., used here only to describe what this tool works with.

Timestamp Fixer does not access Snapchat's services, log into your account, or interact with Snapchat in any way. It only reads the data export that Snapchat gives you.

Changes

I may update this agreement. The current version always lives on this page, with the date at the top.

Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
